The characteristics of the grade relate to the upper layer of the board, the lamella. Each grade defines a degree of display of different features of the wood on a board - sapwood (light longitudinal strips), knots, contrast in tone. The pattern and the price of the board also depend on the grade - the more homogeneous the natural pattern, the higher the value and the price of the engineered floors.
